Pop Program - Intro to Program 5

(Ages 9 to Adult)

Follows a 40 week school year

The Pop Keyboard/Piano program promotes contemporary styles (ie. folk, blues, country, pop, classical, rock, jazz etc.) and well-known songs that are enjoyable to play keeping the student highly motivated. The integration of instrument technology with this comprehensive music education system makes this program unique to alternative music instruction methods.  This program facilitates the growth of musicianship and the desire to continue playing music well into adulthood. Gone are the days of getting your knuckles wrapped while learning to play songs you can’t relate to!

This well-rounded graded curriculum encompasses the many qualities of musicianship teaching the student technique, theory, arranging, ear training, sight reading, note reading, repertoire and performance, improvisation and composition.  A chordal approach used in the beginning allows for fast musical progress as more left hand accompaniment techniques are subsequently introduced.

Group classes make the lessons fun and highly motivating while encouraging creativity, performance, practice, positive competition, ensemble playing, social development and team spirit.
